Evidence-Based Clinical Guidelines for Multidisciplinary Spine Care Released
The North American Spine Society (NASS) has released Evidence-Based Clinical Guidelines for Multidisciplinary Spine Care: Diagnosis and Treatment of Low Back Pain, a project that involved representation from 11 other stakeholder organizations including ASRA.
The guidelines are based on a review of evidence as of February 2016 regarding diagnosis and treatment of nonspecific low-back pain in patients 18 years and older. The work involved 82 clinical questions and 45,000 articles.
Treasurer David Provenzano, MD, served as a stakeholder representative which included participating in the development and review the final guideline. ASRA member Dr. Padma Gulur also served as an author, representing the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
