Standardizing Nomenclature in Regional Anesthesia: An ASRA-ESRA Delphi Consensus Study of Upper and Lower Limb Nerve Blocks

Given the variety of names and anatomical descriptions of regional anesthetic techniques, a steering committee convened to determine consensus on nomenclature. With input from 60 international collaborators, the first international consensus on nomenclature and anatomical descriptions covers blocks of the abdominal wall, chest wall, and paraspinal blocks. Use of these consensus results is intended to reduce potential adverse consequences on education, research, and implementation into clinical practice.
