ASRA Pain Medicine will provide travel scholarships to up to 50 highly qualified and enthusiastic pain fellows to participate in this exclusive workshop on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, directly prior to the 25th Annual Pain Medicine Meeting in Tampa, FL. View the course and workshop program.

The Advanced Interventional Pain Management Course and Workshop for Fellows is sponsored by ASRA Pain Medicine and the Association of Pain Program Directors (APPD).



Scholarships Include

  • Reimbursement after the workshop of up to $310 for one night hotel at the Tampa Marriott Water Street (room and tax only)
  • Registration to the ASRA Pain Medicine/APPD Advanced Interventional Pain Management Course and Workshop for Fellows

Application Submission Requirements

  • Enrollment in an ACGME-accredited fellowship program 
  • ASRA Pain Medicine membership
  • Completed application and supplemental materials:
    • Curriculum vitae (CV)
    • Personal statement explaining why the applicant wants to participate in this course
    • Letter of endorsement or attestation from fellowship program director acknowledging the applicant's intent to apply and supporting participation (may be a one- or two-sentence statement)

Notification 

  • Applicants will be notified of decisions by September 1, 2026.
  • Scholarship recipients must be registered for the 25th Annual Pain Medicine Meeting, at their own expense, by September 18, 2026, or the scholarship will be revoked.
  • Recipient contact information, including mailing address and email, will be provided to the workshop industry sponsors.

Scoring/Judging Criteria

  • Review will be conducted by multiple reviewers from across the country.
  • Reviewers will use a rubric to ensure consistent reviews.
    • Academic achievement will be measured on a 5-point scale based on involvement in scholarly activity.
    • Leadership achievement will be measured on a 5-point scale based on leadership roles within residency, societies, advocacy, and institutional projects.
    • Interest will be evaluated on a 5-point scale based on the personal statement.
