Purpose
The American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine is committed to improving the science and practice of regional anesthesia and pain medicine by providing the latest evidence-based, clinically applicable continuing medical education (CME). ASRA Pain Medicine supports the lifelong learning of those participating in its CME activities through quality continuing education designed to facilitate measurable changes in knowledge, competence and performance, thus contributing to excellence in patient care and improved patient outcomes.
Content areas
ASRA Pain Medicine CME program content is derived from the identified professional practice gaps and educational needs of its learners, as well as related desirable physician attributes. Content areas will include clinical practice guidelines, current research findings, latest technologies and techniques, and practice management concepts relevant to the optimal application of regional anesthesia and pain medicine in the clinical setting. ASRA Pain Medicine will present scientifically valid and commercially unbiased CME content.
Target audience
The ASRA Pain Medicine CME program provides educational activities to physicians, residents, fellows, and scientists. ASRA Pain Medicine supports a multi-disciplinary and inter-professional approach to continuing education and patient care by also providing relevant education for other healthcare professionals not directly engaging in interventional regional anesthesia and/or pain medicine procedures. ASRA Pain Medicine offers learning opportunities to the national and international healthcare community.
Types of activities
ASRA Pain Medicine specializes in offering high-quality educational activities. ASRA Pain Medicine CME formats are designed utilizing the principles of effective adult learning in order to best achieve the activity’s educational objectives. Through strategic partnerships, ASRA Pain Medicine provides maintenance of certification approved CME, enduring materials, and other educational initiatives to support physicians’ continuing professional development. A wide variety of additional educational support materials are available online, such as presentations, research abstracts/posters, journal access, consensus guidelines, and video tutorials.
