Target audience: This activity is intended for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and other healthcare professionals involved in the management of migraine and headache disorders in inpatient, outpatient, emergency and pain medicine settings.
Learning Objectives:- Review the current evidence regarding commonly utilized intravenous medications for inpatient headache management, including efficacy, safety, and clinical indications.
- Identify the major recommendations and underlying clinical rationale within the recently published ASRA Pain Medicine inpatient headache infusion guidelines.
- Summarize the key updates to pharmacologic guidelines for the acute/preventive treatment of migraine in both outpatient and emergency department settings.
- Identify updated recommendations for migraine prevention, including the evolving role of CGRP-targeting therapies as first-line options.
- Apply emerging guideline frameworks and treatment outcome standards to optimize migraine management in clinical practice.
