2022 Spring Meeting Faculty Development Session

In response to the requests of our membership, ASRA Pain Medicine will pilot a Faculty Development Session on Friday, April 1, from 6:45-7:45 am in conjunction with the 47th Annual Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine Meeting. This session is developed specifically for instructors, assistant faculty, and associate faculty who would like to talk with a mentor about promotion barriers and needs. Sign up for a free 20-minute session with one of the mentors listed below. Space is limited and available to meeting attendees only.
Once you are registered for the a mentor session, you will receive a confirmation email and will be asked to send your CV, requirements for promotion from your institution’s office of faculty development, and a note of what you want to address with
the mentor. Materials must be sent to asrameetings@asra.com by no later than 3/21/22.
Meet the Mentors
Sandra L. Kopp, MD | Dr. Kopp has been on staff at Mayo Clinic Rochester for approximately 19 years. She has been a professor of anesthesiology and perioperative medicine for approximately four years. She has been involved in several randomized clinical trials and systematic reviews involving regional anesthesia and education. She now works the majority of her time in the Mayo Clinic Health System sites and would like to focus her research on integration of best practices in our health system sites. She would be happy to meet with mentees at any level. |
Samer Narouze, MD, PhD | Dr. Narouze is a headache and pain specialist. He has worked in a private multispecialty group in Akron, OH, for the past 12 years. Previously, he was the pain fellowship program director at Cleveland Clinic. He is currently the president of ASRA Pain Medicine and a professor of anesthesiology and surgery at NEOMED and Ohio University. Dr. Narouze is board-certified in anesthesiology, pain medicine, neurology, and headache medicine. His areas of interest are pain, headache, cannabinoids, wellness, equity, and ultrasound. He would be happy to meet with mentees at any level. |
| Dr. Rosenblatt is a professor of anesthesiology and orthopedics at the Icahn School of Medicine, where she is a member of the Appointments, Promotions, and Tenure Committee. She is chair of the department of anesthesiology, perioperative and pain medicine at Mount Sinai Morningside and West Hospital, a member of the ASRA Pain Medicine Board of Directors, and chair of the Faculty Development Committee. She would be happy to meet with mentees at any level. |
Richard Rosenquist, MD | Dr. Rosenquist is chair of the department of pain management at Cleveland Clinic. He is a past president and Board Member of ASRA Pain Medicine, a past member and chair of the American Board of Anesthesiology Pain Medicine Examination Committee, and a past member of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Anesthesiology Residency Review Committee. In addition to his current clinical and administrative activities, he serves as reviewer for several journals, member of society boards, member of several ASRA Pain Medicine and American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) committees, and advisor of the ASA RVS Update Committee. He would be happy to meet with mentees at any level. |
Jaime Baratta, MD | Dr. Baratta is a clinical assistant professor of anesthesiology and director of regional anesthesia as well as director of the Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Fellowship in the department of anesthesiology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. After serving five years as a medical officer in the United States Navy, she completed her residency and fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. She is a past ASRA Pain Medicine Spring Meeting chair and serves as the faculty advisor to the Resident Section Committee. She is happy to meet with mentees from instructor to assistant professor. |
Ashley Shilling, MD | Dr. Shilling is an associate professor of anesthesiology and orthopedic surgery at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, VA. Her roles include serving as the Division Chief of Regional and Acute Pain Medicine and Co-Director of UVA’s Outpatient Surgical Center. She is the currently the Regional and Acute Pain Medicine Fellowship Director and serves on committees for ASA, ASRA Pain Medicine, and SAMBA. She is passionate about mentorship and would love to meet with mentees from instructor to assistant professor. |
